Years of production use on a very large install base. Tutorials for everything, and any developer you hire has probably touched it.
Template volume
The starter-template library is enormous. If you want to begin from a near-finished site design, Astra has more of them than almost anyone.
Builder workflows
If your team is committed to Elementor or Beaver Builder, Astra is built around that choice and supports it better than a blocks-only theme ever will.

Heroes, pricing tables, comparison tables, FAQs with schema, forms — 43 blocks in one package. Astra keeps the theme lean and leaves section blocks to Spectra — a fine design, but it means two products to version, configure and learn.

There is no Pro tier. The Customizer depth, the WooCommerce styling, the animation system and the updater are the free product, GPL-2.0, no renewal.
The portability bet
No shortcodes and no builder markup, about 4.4 KB of gzipped JavaScript, and updates verified against a published checksum before they install.

Your content survives
Everything in core blocks keeps rendering. Content built with Spectra keeps working too — it is a plugin, and plugins do not care which theme is active.
The chrome rebuilds
Customizer settings do not transfer between themes — colours, fonts, header and footer are set fresh. Nine schemes and the contrast readout make that quick.
