WPR Multipurpose vs Kadence.
Kadence took the block editor seriously earlier than most, and Kadence Blocks remains one of the best block plugins there is. The split is the point: Kadence spreads its strength across a theme, a blocks plugin and a Pro tier. WPR ships one theme with the blocks inside.

The header builder
Kadence’s drag-and-drop header and footer builder ships in the free theme. WPR’s header is a fixed layout with settings — deliberate, but less flexible, and Kadence is simply better here.
Kadence Blocks itself
A genuinely excellent block plugin with a deep design library. If you want maximum per-block design control, it goes further than WPR’s opinionated sections.
Backing and support
Kadence is part of StellarWP with a dedicated support operation and a large community. A one-team free theme cannot match that depth of coverage.

There is no Pro tier. The Customizer depth, the WooCommerce styling, the animation system and the updater are the free product, GPL-2.0, no renewal.
The portability bet
No shortcodes and no builder markup, about 4.4 KB of gzipped JavaScript, and updates verified against a published checksum before they install.

Your content survives
Everything in core blocks keeps rendering. Content built with Kadence Blocks keeps working too — it is a plugin, and it stays active under any theme.
The chrome rebuilds
Customizer settings do not transfer between themes — colours, fonts, header and footer are set fresh. Nine schemes and the contrast readout make that quick.

Switch on a copy, click through your key templates, then decide. Switching back loses nothing either way.
